These jars will also with stand the pressure and the heat of a pressure canner. Once you have proper canning jars they can be reused year to year. Just remember to inspect them for chips and cracks before using any jar.

A. Yes, brand new lids are imperative to achieving a good seal. Lids are one piece of canning equipment that you will want to avoid reusing. Canning jars and bands can be reused each canning season but lids cannot.
